Busy Week!

It’s been a really busy week, with it being a short week and even at the office September seems to mean back at it!

I’ve been a little sloppy with the posts this week but I have plans for next week!

Part of the busy has not just been at the office but also at home. I’m getting rid of the clutter in my home. Okay I don’t actually have a lot of clutter but to ensure I don’t turn into a hoarder (aka my Mother) I like to clear out the place every few years.

In the next couple of months I will be going through EVERYTHING and throwing stuff out, donating stuff and also seeing what I can sell. I would like to make some changes around my place and changes are always easier to make in a clean clutter free home.

First on the list is my closet because fall clothes are out! There are so many cute clothes out there but I know I don’t need much. The plan is to clear out the closet see what I have and then with a budget and a list go shopping!

This will also give me time to figure out what I want to keep of my other stuff and give myself rules to follow. I follow rules well. Giving myself a specific number like “I can keep ten stuffed animals” or “I can keep one box of souvenirs”. Now I have been known to bend the rules and change it to “I can keep ten teddy bears AND ten stuffed animals” or I’ll change the size of the box. A good clearing though always makes me feel good.

Also I am starting to get ready for my trip on October 13th and I’ve had a few people ask me how I plan and prepare for a trip so next week I’ll tell you!

Have a great weekend everyone!

One More Day

Its almost a long weekend! Four days off (our company gives us an extra day!). I am so looking forward to it.

The problem with knowing a long weekend is coming is that I sometimes let things slide at home. I’ll have PLENTY of time on the weekend! So this time I’m trying to stay on top of it all and trying to get ahead. So that the four days off will truly be four days off.

I was suppose to meet up with a friend but for Mothers Day but her gift was a weekend in Fernie! This weekend. Sad face. Don’t get me wrong I’m super happy for her and I’d pick a weekend in Fernie with two wonderful daughters and a kick ass husband over coffee with me as well. We have rebooked and I will see her soon. When we do meet I will get to hear all about her wonderful weekend away and then I’ll have happy face! Plus she’s buying me lunch so it’s well worth the wait.

What will I do then? I will straighten up, read, get out on my bike, get out for lunch, maybe go crazy and see a movie. I also need some summer clothes. I’m much more of a fall clothes person. Jeans, boots, turtleneck and I’m a happy camper. Summer I’m never sure what to wear. I don’t handle the heat well, I don’t like to show my pale English legs (they are almost blue, nobody needs to see that), then there are the shoes. Suddenly toes are an issue. Perhaps I’ll get a pedicure this weekend then I’ll brave the sandals. There is the consideration of being office appropriate, staying cool and then there is the sweat issue. You know the sweat issue, fabric that changes colour when it’s wet and suddenly… that cute shirt is not so attractive. I may need a glass of wine before I go shopping, to calm down and not have a break down with so many things to consider. The good thing is that I will have the next day to recover and come Tuesday maybe I’ll have a new outfit to wear.

If not I’ll curl up with Charles Dickens (I’m reading The Old Curiosity Shop and I don’t think it ends well), make myself some iced tea and relax. Four days to get the jump on spring, after the snow. Yes snow. I live in Calgary and often there is snow on the May long weekend, then the sun comes out and it’s spring again. We get weather.

All I have to do is make it through today.
