Helicopter Ride!

Banff Helicopter 1

I’d never been on a helicopter, when Carole first mentioned our options for morning tours and helicopter was one of them I thought “OMG How fun would that be?”

I was right it was amazing! It was a beautiful clear morning and we were the last group to go. We stood and watched the others take off and then come back. I was a little nervous but thought the views would make it all worthwhile.

As we took off Carole gave me the thumbs up!

Then we got to fly by the Three Sisters (Faith, Charity and Hope). The views were stunning and flying so close to the mountains was thrilling. My only complaint was the flight wasn’t long enough. Now I can check helicopter ride off my list of things to do!

Here are some of the views:

Blame Top Chef Canada

I was going to finish up my thoughts on “Insurgent” by Veronica Roth but then I got sucked into Top Chef. It’s one of the shows I really enjoy and this week Spenny was on! (From Kenny vs Spenny) and then they went CAMPING! So my review will have to wait a day.

They had to do a vending machine challenge first. What hey come up with, well I just don’t think I should ever complain about not having food in the house. Trevor won with Chicken Wings that had been done in a pork rind batter, with a beer mayonnaise. (off topic, what did we do before spell check?)

It never ceases to amaze me what they come up with and now we are down to seven chefs the competition is tough. They are all so good. They all did pretty good but the bottom had Xavier, David and Ryan OMG they are all REALLY good. I was hoping David wouldn’t go home because I’ve really grown to like him. I love how focused they get, I love that the chefs freak out under pressure. I can’t believe the food they come up with.

Next week it’s the “Soul Food” challenge. Make the dish that best represents you as a chef. Hmmmm….. could I just serve people mint melties with a side of smarties?

Looks like there are tears and tension. I can’t wait. I love Top Chef, the only one I might like even more is Top Chef Masters!

So tomorrow I will have the review of “Insurgent” …… promise.
