Oh My God It’s Hot…..

I hear it every day that I shouldn’t complain about the heat but I do.

It’s a little too hot for me, it’s been 30 degrees. The dog and I have been totally drained and super lazy. He lies around in his playboy pose (limbs all sprawled open wide) and has no interest in a walk and I sit around in as little as possible hugging a slurpee.

I’m a moderate temperature kinda gal. I like the fall, I like sweaters, I like tights and I like not sweating ALL THE TIME. It’s gross. I took a shower before yoga the other day and then a shower after yoga. Clothes can only be worn once and suddenly fabric that changes colour when it’s wet becomes a concern. I melt on my walk home, thank goodness for slurpees, the moment I get in my house I strip. It’s my house I can run around in my underwear if I want. Okay I’m not running around I’m turning on the fan and trying to cool off.

Mostly what I hate are feet in hot weather. I hate how hot feet get in shoes, I hate that they swell, I hate that blisters are more likely to happen. My feet take a beating in the summer and it seems I’m always trying to get them to recover after a long day in shoes. This year though I have flip flops. The last pair of flip flops I wore all the time I got from Hawaii when I was ten. My Mom brought me these from Brazil and so far I’m kinda liking them. Feet stay cool and comfy, nothing rubs and I can walk in them. Only one problem and that is every time I look down I am reminded that I a) have old lady feet and b) that I need a pedicure. Not sure the pedicure will help but certainly it won’t hurt.

So instead of spending money on blister bandaids and other foot remedies this year I’m going to stick with the flip flops and get a pedicure!

(At least I’ll have pretty toes to look at while I’m sitting in my underwear hugging my slurpee after a long hot day.)
