Our first night in Paris our friend Melanie took us to her favourite place to eat in Paris. It’s called Ave Maria. It’s a fun little place, casual and the menu has everything from chicken skewers with peanut sauce to African, Brazilian and Indian dishes. The waitress was nice but adamant that the front window booth was for five people. Therefore we couldn’t sit there because there were only three of us. It was pretty empty when we arrived but by the time we left there was a line up waiting and after having eaten there I could see why. The food was DELICIOUS!
For my main course I had French Brazillian “Escalope”… Herb marinated turkey breast, breaded with crushed almonds served with pepper cinnamon sauce. Accompanied by basmati rice and salad. I thought I had taken a picture but now I can’t find it. That’s okay for me, as I will never forget it and I could have had a mug of the cinnamon sauce. It was SO good (if anybody has a recipe for pepper cinnamon sauce please share it). I really want to go back to try more of the menu, so Paris is back on the travel list.
For dessert I had ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE a lovely Raspberry Tart. Lovely cinnamon and coconut cookie, a lovely mousse of mascarpone, vanilla and raspberry, ‘nappe’ with a lovely passion fruit sauce and a lovely touch of raspberry sauce.
I think the picture speaks for itself (absolutely divine!).

I want that cake!
That’s is more than food- that is art
Are those strawberry decals on the table? That pie is amazing looking as is the restaurant. Now here’s the question: did you share that pie?
Yep those are strawberry decals on the table, it’s a very cool little place! I was the only one who ordered dessert and my two friends each had one or two bites and I ate the rest. It was SOOOOOO GOOD!
Yum!
It really was! I dream of that dessert!
I’ve never heard of a French/Brazilian fusion before, but it sounds delicious!
Laurel it was SO GOOD! If you find yourself in Paris I would definitely recommend it!
